The studio

One calm, newly finished room, with everything close to hand.

The barn has been newly converted, and the studio has its own entrance. Inside there's a double bed, a sofa bed, a dining table, and an en-suite bathroom with a deep bath for after the sauna.

The kitchenette is set up for light cooking: a sink, mini fridge, kettle, coffee pod machine, and an air-fryer that also toasts, bakes and grills. A floor mattress is available if four of you are staying.

The wild spa

Heat, cold, rest. Then do it again.

No robes-and-slippers corridor here. The spa is outdoors: a wood-fired sauna and an organic wild swimming pool, a few steps from your door. They're shared with guests staying at Dolly the Hut, but they never feel crowded, and both are included in your stay.

Let me know in advance when you'd like the sauna and I'll have it lit. One session per night is included. Extra sessions are a £10 donation towards the wood.

Skelsmergh, just outside Kendal.

This is the Lake District's quieter south-eastern edge. You're close to Kendal for supplies, and the lakes are a short drive away.
